Elizabeth Florence (Kaiser) Behn, 95, of Middletown, wife of the late Wallis Behn, passed away at Autumn Lake of Cromwell on Saturday, March 16, 2025, a few weeks shy of her 16th birthday (again). Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Kaiser, Sr. and Bossie (Proudman) Kaiser.
Elizabeth lived in Middletown and Cromwell all her life. She was a lifelong member of the Cromwell Grange for fifty years and of Third Congregational Church in Middletown where she was active in the Strawberry Festival and Ladies Aide. She was a Girl Scout Leader and an active participant in entering crafts and baked goods in local fairs. Elizabeth worked at Pierson’s Nursery in Cromwell and Topps Retail Store in Middletown.
Elizabeth is survived by two sons David Tomasso, Jr. and his wife Colleen of Cromwell and Joseph Tomasso and his wife Cathy of Cromwell; a daughter Cindy Curtis and her husband Steven of Gilbert, SC; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her siblings Jacob, Harry, William Kaiser, Agnes Woike and Eileen Hunt.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22nd at 10:00 am at Third Congregational Church, Miner Street, Middletown. A burial will follow in Miner Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell. In lieu of flowers, Donations in Elizabeth’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 111 Founders Plaza, 2nd Floor, East Hartford, CT 06108.
