Elisa Jimenez Obituary

Elisa (Betances) Jimenez, 70, of Church Street, Portland, CT, wife of the Alberto Jimenez, passed away peacefully at Middlesex Hospital on May 25, 2026.  She was born on April 16, 1956, in Yauco, Puerto Rico. Lived in Brooklyn, New York for many years before becoming a longtime resident of Portland CT

Elisa was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her friends, family, listening to music and dancing. She enjoyed spending time with her husband of 43 years, children, grandchildren and family. She had a great sense of humor, and her contagious laugh and a smile that would always brighten up your day.  She was known to have great holiday parties and always went above and beyond for everyone. 

Elisa had a passion for sewing and crafts, specially making souvenirs for special occasions.  

She joins her father Miguel Betances, stepmother Lolita Silva and brother Junito Betances in heaven.

She is survived by her mother Salvadora Montalvo of Puerto Rico; brothers, Rafael Betances and wife Berkis of New York;  Carlos Betances and wife Gracie of Florida and Salvador Pagan of New York; sisters, Catalina "Tata" Betances and husband Pucho of Puerto Rico, Angie Morales of Puerto Rico, Nuri Morales of PA; three children, Alberto, Jesus and Barbara Jimenez; her four grandchildren Elimarie, Tiana, Ariana and Angel along with her god-daughter Millie Betances-Noboa and many other godchildren's, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Elisa's family wishes to thank the staff of Portland Care and Rehabilitation, Middlesex Hospital and Hospice Unit and long-term care of Family Practice of Portland.

Calling hours will be held at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown CT 06457, on Sunday, June 7th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately after calling hours at Falcon Grove 144 Prout Hill Rd.
