Elijah Toler, Jr.

     Elijah Toler, Jr., 71, of Middletown passed away on October 5, 2025, at Hartford Hospital. Born in Soperton, GA, he was the son of the late Elijah Toler, Sr and Easter (McClendon) Toler.

     He graduated from Treutlen County High School in Soperton, GA and was a great football player during his high school years.

     In 1974, he moved to Middletown, CT, and began working at Marion Manufacturing in Durham, American Craft in Middletown and finally Stop and Shop in Cromwell. Elijah was a member of Cross Street AME Zion Church in Middletown.

     Elijah is survived by his four brothers, Woodrow and Glen Toler both of Soperton, Georgia, David Toler of Oak City, North Carolina, and Gary Toler of Dublin, Georgia; and a sister Mandy Jean Toler Jones of Soperton, Georgia and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

     Besides his parents, Elijah was predeceased by a brother, Chuck Toler and a sister, Cynthia Toler Jackson.
