Eleanor May (Dalo) Frisk

Eleanor May (Dalo) Frisk, 89, of Cromwell, beloved wife of Richard H. Frisk for sixty-four years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut after a lengthy illness.  Born January 11, 1931 in Rocky Hill, she was the daughter of the late James and Josephine (Pawlich) Dalo.

Ellie graduated from Wethersfield High School and the Saint Francis School of Nursing.  She was employed with the State Veteran’s Hospital in Rocky Hill until her retirement in 1983.

Ellie had decades of devoted service and was awarded Cromwell Woman of the Year in 2006 due to her numerous community and church activities.  She was an active member of Saint John’s Church in Cromwell serving in many roles including CCD Teacher, Past President of Saint John’s Women’s Guild and a Eucharist minister.  She was a life member of the Cromwell Fire Department Ambulance Division, and helped with the development of the Cromwell Grenadiers, Park and Recreation Summer Playground program, Cromwell Handicap Committee member and a Girl Scout leader.  She loved listening to her daughter Karen’s jazz performances and Big Band music and also enjoyed dancing.

Ellie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and touched the lives of so many with her kindness and generosity.

Besides her husband, Ellie leaves her daughters, Karen Frisk and Kimberly Zordan, both of Cromwell.  She was “Nanny” to her grandsons, Douglas “DJ” Zordan (Tricia) of Cromwell and Dana L. Zordan and his fiancé Kaylee of Rocky Hill.  She also leaves her brother, Vincent Dalo (Barbara) of Rocky Hill and his family.

Ellie’s wishes were no calling hours.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 17 at 10:00 am at Saint John Church, 5 Saint John Court, Cromwell.  Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park in Rocky Hill.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Ellie’s memory may be made to the Father Leo Ovian Scholarship Fund @ Holy Apostles College & Seminary, 33 Prospect Hill Road, Cromwell, CT 06416.  To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
