Donald Martin Maine

Donald “Hap” Martin Maine, 89, of Middletown, passed away on December 5, 2025, at Wadsworth Glen Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.  Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Edson L. Maine, Jr. and Blanche (Martin) Maine.

Donald grew up in Middletown and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School.  After high school, he served in the United States Army.  He worked for the US Postal Service for forty years.  He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed Duck Pin bowling and loved horseshoe pitching where he was inducted into the New England Horseshoes Pitchers Hall of Fame in 2003.    Donald was also a fan of the New York Giants, Boston Red Sox and the Hartford Whalers.

Donald is survived by his sister Linda M. Williams, four nieces, Nancy Long, Leslie Larson and her husband Gary, Kathy Kristhoffer and Susan Williams Major and her husband John, a nephew Andrew Williams and his wife Roshni Koshy and many great nieces and nephews and one great great nephew.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Beverly Peterson.

Donald’s family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Wadsworth Glen Health Care & Rehabilitation Center for their wonderful care of Donald.
