Donald F. Franklin

Donald F. Franklin, 84, of Cromwell, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Middlesex Hospital.  Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Edward, Sr. and Anne (Steffens) Franklin.

Don was a lifelong Cromwell resident and member of Saint John Church.  He was employed with the State of Connecticut Tax Department for twenty-nine years.  He travelled extensively throughout the United States and Canada.  He enjoyed bowling and was a member of a local duckpin bowling league.    He enjoyed reading books, listening to country music, and watching old movies, especially westerns. Don also loved to follow UConn basketball and the Red Sox.

Don is survived by sister-in-law Mary Franklin; two nephews Phil Franklin and his wife Sue and Steve Franklin and his wife Kim; a niece Cathy Scholl and her husband Gary and several grandnieces and a grandnephew.

Along with his parents, Don was predeceased by two brothers Edward L. Franklin, Jr., and J. Richard Franklin.

Don’s family thank his caregivers for their support in the last three years, especially Princess Shirley for her kind and compassionate care.
