Dolores Ethel (Peck) Filanda, 90, of Middletown, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Apple Rehab of Cromwell. Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Sylvia (Currier) Peck.
Dolores lived in Cromwell and Middletown most of her life and was employed by the State of Connecticut Department of Labor for many years retiring in 1996. She was a member of Saint John Church in Cromwell and a member of the Middletown Seniors. She loved dancing. Dolores was a very caring person, a loving mother and grandmother who adored her family dearly.
Dolores is survived by two sons, Joseph J. Filanda, Jr. of Middletown and Richard Filanda and his wife, Caryl of Vero Beach, FL; a daughter, Karen Stone of Middletown; seven grandchildren, Charlsea, Matthew, Caitlyn, Christopher, Jennifer, Melanie and Kariane and nine great grandchildren, Aiden, Amari, Jaelyn, Gianna, Finn, Rhys, Niko, Matthew, Jr. and Nikki. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Dolores is predeceased by three brothers, Richard Peck, Donald Peck and Gerald Peck and two sisters, Muriel Smith and Eleanor Corciullo.
A private graveside service will be held in Cromwell Hillside Cemetery West. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dolores’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
