We honor the life of Daniel Farrell Sullivan Jr., who passed away on July 24th, 2026, after a 17-year battle with a brain injury linked to wartime exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam. He was born on Feb. 14th, 1950, in Springfield, Massachusetts, and raised in Agawam, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Daniel and Helen (O'Donnell) Sullivan, and the proud father of his three children: Dan Sullivan (Mary), Chris Sullivan, and Johnna Sullivan. He was also blessed with three amazing grandchildren: Levi, Maya, and Madelaine. He is survived by his sister, Ellen Barnes (Richard), and predeceased by his brothers, Dave, Mark, and Tom, and his sister, Kate.

He also leaves his sisters-in-law, Sam, Paula, and Kathy. He will be remembered by his beloved nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and countless friends.

Danny was a 1967 graduate of Cathedral High School and went on to earn a Master's Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. After serving in Vietnam, he was honorably discharged in late 1971. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Service Star, the Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster (for heroism and meritorious achievement), the Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Air Medal.

He worked for over 20 years as a Plant Manager at Cytec Industries. Because of his work ethic and success, he was continually given the opportunity to lead large-scale facilities across the country. He was often recognized for his excellence and outstanding performance. He ended his career as the respected Director of Labor Relations and Compensation at the Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Twyla (Andros) Sullivan. He adored his wife and was a hopeless romantic when it came to their marriage and love. Dan and Twyla lived in seven different states before settling in Guilford for the past 37 years. He was so proud of his family and never missed one of his children's sporting events. He was a marathon runner for many years and earned many medals. He also loved birding, hiking, and gardening.

Dan was a kind and caring man, always ready to help any family member or friend. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched. He will be greatly missed by all. 

Family and friends are invited to St. George Church, 30 Whitfield Street in Guilford, CT, on Tuesday, August 18th, at 10:00 a.m., to attend a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private.
