Carolyn Marie (Highsmith) Leary

Carolyn Marie (Highsmith) Leary, age 67 of Meriden, passed away at her home on Sunday May 9, 2021. Carolyn was born August 5, 1953 in Pinetops NC, daughter of the late Jessie Lee Highsmith and the late Douglas Highsmith, Sr.

She was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. Carolyn worked as an administrative lead at Pratt & Whitney in Middletown for many years. She also worked in the health care arena in long term care facilities, where she cared for residents with love and compassion.

Carolyn’s legacy of love lives on in her two daughters who she loved fiercely, Renee N. Howell of Middletown and Martina S. Jackson of Berlin. Her second greatest love was her grandchildren, Donovan, Denae and Quran. She is also survived by her siblings: Douglas, Jr (Jennifer) of Middletown, Margaret of NC, Diane of MA, and Yvette of Bristol.  She was predeceased by sister, Mazie and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were like family.

The family will receive friends who follow Covid precautions on Monday, May 17th, from 11:00am -12:30 pm at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown.
