Carolyn Rose (Stellato) Cappiello

Carolyn Rose (Stellato) Cappiello, 53, of Middletown, beloved wife of Stephen S. Cappiello, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Middlesex Hospital.  Born in New Haven, she was the daughter of Betty (DiBenedetto) Stellato of New Haven and the late Michael P. Stellato.

Carolyn lived in Middletown since 2001 and was a member of Victory Church where she led the special needs ministry.  She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy in New Haven and Southern Connecticut State University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Skilled Nursing in 1992 and worked as a nurse for over 30 years.

Carolyn enjoyed travelling and reading and loved devoting her time to Autistic Non-Profit Organizations.  Carolyn will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and someone who devoted her life to helping others.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by her son, Tyler S. Cappiello of Middletown, two sisters, Elizabeth and husband Joe De Matteo of New Haven, and Michele Cilla of Wallingford, and four nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Victory Church, 191 Meriden Road, Middlefield on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 11:00 am. A burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.  Family and friends may call before the service from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the church.
