Caroline Virginia (Strom) Daniels

Caroline Virginia (Strom) Daniels, 90, of Middletown, wife of the late Raymond R. Daniels, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Middlesex Hospital.  Born on June 15, 1927 in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mamie (Carlson) Strom.

Caroline lived in Middletown the majority of her life and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.  Caroline and Ray had a long and happy marriage for almost sixty years.  They owned a cottage in Westbrook where Caroline just loved the beach and being with her family.  She also enjoyed all types of sports especially UCONN women’s basketball.

Caroline is survived by her son, Robert Daniels and his wife, Sheila (Coughlin) Daniels of Middletown; her daughter, Pamela Appell of Petaluma, CA; five grandchildren, Taylor Withrington, Paige Appell, Justin Appell, Molly Daniels and Jessie Daniels; two great grandchildren, Piper and Turner Withrington and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her husband and parents, Caroline was predeceased by her sisters, Marjorie LaVelle and Eleanor Olsen.

A service celebrating and reflecting on Caroline’s life will be held on Sunday, April 15 at 3:00 pm at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
