Carmen (Rodriguez) Raynor

Carmen (Rodriguez) Raynor of Middletown, CT beloved wife of 45 years to Leon Raynor, passed away January 21, 2021 at Middlesex Hospital. Carmen was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico on August 22, 1954. She was the daughter of the late Emilio and Bernardina “Nina” Rodriguez. Carmen and her family moved from Puerto Rico to Middletown, CT in 1966. Carmen graduated from Middletown High School in 1972. Carmen was employed at Xerox/Newfield Publications from 1977 to 1995. Throughout the years she worked at various companies including Simon and Schuster and The Hartford. Carmen worked at Data Mail Inc. for 15 years until she retired in 2017.

When she was not working, she spent time gardening outside her home and tending to the plants she collected inside her home as well. Carmen loved spending time with her grandchildren and being around family. Always positive with such an uplifting spirit, bright smile, biggest heart and a loud laugh; Carmen loved all those close to her. Carmen is survived by her husband Leon Raynor, her son Leon M. Raynor (Amber) and her daughter Nina Raynor; two grandchildren Bryce and Camryn Raynor; two brothers Edwin “Congo” Rodriguez, and Hector Rodriguez (Dawn) of Middletown. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Carmen was predeceased by her brother Ismael.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday January 26, 2021 between the hours of 5:00pm-7:00pm at Doolittle Funeral Home located at 14 Old Church Street in Middletown, CT. A burial ceremony will be held on Wednesday January 27, 2021 at 11:00am at Pine Grove Cemetery, 857 South Main Street, Middletown, CT.
