Carey Michael Hewitt, 68, of Middletown, passed away on December 10, 2024, after a long courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis at Wadsworth Glen in Middletown. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late William R. and Antoinette (Faraci) Hewitt, Sr.
Carey lived in Middletown most of his life, moving to Rocky Hill in 2020. He was a member of Saint Pius X Church in Middletown.
Carey graduated from Xavier High School Class of 1974 and graduated Western Connecticut State University in 1979. He was employed by the State of Connecticut for twenty-two years, retiring in 2012. Carey enjoyed coaching Middletown Little League and was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan.
Carey is survived by a son Shawn Hewitt and his wife Jennifer in Middlefield; a stepdaughter Jennifer Howarth and her husband Joshua of Griswold; a brother William R. Hewitt, Jr. and his wife Luz of Cromwell; four grandchildren Colton Hewitt, Madison Hewitt, Matthew Howarth and Michael Howarth; a nephew Brandon Hewitt and his former spouse Leigh Hewitt of Middletown.

A private graveside will be held at the convenience of the family.
