Bruce Whitehill Jr., 61, passed away on February 8, 2026 after a lengthy but courageous battle with numerous health challenges. Born in Manchester, CT, Bruce is a Berlin High School graduate of the class of 1982.
Bruce is survived by his mother, Jennifer Whitehill of Berlin, three children Nicole Whitehill of Bristol, Samantha Whitehill of Bristol, and Benjamin Whitehill of East Berlin, sister Marlana Rice of Magnolia, TX, sister Lisa LaPierre and husband Duane of Bristol, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Additionally, he is survived by the love of his life, Lisa Vezina of Wallingford. He is predeceased by his father, Bruce Whitehill.
Affectionately referred to as “Brucie” by those close to him, Bruce will be remembered best for his love and talent for music and anything with an engine. Bruce spent countless hours in his youth racing around the track at Southwick, dominating the course and leaving his competition in the dust. If he couldn’t be found on top of a motorbike, he could be found under the hood of a car. Bruce was employed for many years at Gallagher Buick in New Britain where he worked as a parts manager. He was able to learn and grow as a motors enthusiast during his time there. At night, he filled the house with the soft sound of him strumming his guitar to any rock classic. Bruce had an affinity for nature that reflected his free spirit—whether it was camping, jet skiing, snowmobiling, or taking trips up to the mountains of Vermont, he was happiest in sharing in outdoor experiences with his friends and family, especially enjoying countless adventures with his loving partner, Lisa.
Family and friends are invited to join in a toast to celebrate Bruce’s life at Alvarium Beer Company, B Side, at 365 John Downey Dr., New Britain, CT on Sunday, February 22, 2026 from 5-8pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Laurel Music Camp, a nonprofit music camp in Connecticut, to honor Bruce’s love and dedication to music. Donations can be made through the Laurel Music Camp website, https://laurelmusiccamp.com
