Bruce Henry Turcotte, 74, of Rocky Hill, CT, born on August 18, 1951, husband of Lynne Ann (Hyneck) Turcotte, passed away on November 21, 2025, at the West Haven VA Medical Center. Born in New Britain, Bruce was the son of the late Arthur E. Turcotte and Margaret R. Turcotte.
Bruce served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force as an aerospace technician, stationed at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland and in Germany. Bruce worked as Director of Manufacturing at Barden Corporation in Danbury, before relocating his family to Manitowoc, WI, in 1991, where he was Plant Manager of Dowco. He moved with his family back to Connecticut in 2016 in Rocky Hill. He had resided at the Veteran’s Home in Rocky Hill since 2019.
An old car enthusiast, Bruce could name the make, model and year of any car you pointed out. In his younger days, his purple Dodge Charger was his pride and joy. He loved music, especially The Rolling Stones. Bruce will be remembered most of all for his sense of humor.
Along with his wife Lynne, Bruce is survived by daughters Michelle Turcotte of Rocky Hill; Nicole Turcotte of Rocky Hill; Bethany (Turcotte) Tattershall and husband David of Coconut Creek, FL; granddaughter Danielle “Dani” Melissa Turcotte; sister Gale Fogarty and her husband Bill of Old Saybrook; sister-in-law Darleen Turchetta and her husband Gary of Rocky Hill; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Bruce was predeceased by his beloved sister Lynn Leavitt and her husband Bob Leavitt, Bruce’s best friend.
Bruce’s family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of the Sgt. John L. Levitow Healthcare Center that became a home to him – the administrators, medical staff, PT staff, recreation staff that kept him busy with bingo and musical performances amongst other things, and especially the wonderful staff of C-lower, who in addition to their excellent care, became friends to the family.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, December 11th from 9:30 to 10:00 am at the Sgt John L. Levitow Heath Care Center Chapel, 287 West St. in Rocky Hill. A short service will be held at 10:00 am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bruce’s memory may be made to Disabled American Veterans at dav.org.
