Bobby J. Perry, 78, of Middletown, husband of Olivia M. Perry was called home to rest on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown, CT.  Born in Hamilton, NC on March 15, 1945, to the late Willie D. & Florence (Williams) Perry of Middletown.  

Bobby was employed by Bielefield Elementary School in Middletown, CT for several years before retiring.  He would visit Cross Street A.M.E Zion Church with his wife Olivia and family.  Bobby was an entrepreneur owning several businesses in Middletown: Perry’s Records, Perry’s Lunch, Perry’s Groceries, Perry’s Ice Cream and Perry’s Hot Foods.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cooking.  He was known in town for his North Carolina styled Chopped BBQ and delicious Soul Food.  Bobby J. Perry, a Husband, Father, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Great Great Grandpa, brother, uncle, and cousin loved his family.  He instilled a work ethic in his children and many others that will carry on throughout generations.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son Keith A. Perry and siblings: Willie Edward Perry, Willie D. Perry, Jr. & George Perry.  Bobby leaves to cherish his memories through his children, Barbara J. Perry of Dallastown, PA, William (Sandra) D. Perry of El Paso, TX, George (Leslie) W. Perry of Middletown, CT,  Terry A. Perry of Hartford, CT, and Jessica O. Perry of Palm Bay, FL; two brothers: Michael Perry and Gary Perry both of Middletown; three sisters: Eva Butler of NY, Annette J. Perry-Norman of Middletown, Stella Boxley of Meriden, 16 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, November 25th with a viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 am and a service starting at 11:00 am at Cross Street A.M.E.
