Bertin Nadeau

Bertin Nadeau, 73, of Norwich, CT died peacefully on Tuesday November 24, 2020 with his daughter by his side.  Bert, the son of Alcide Nadeau and Yvonne (Lang) Nadeau was born in Edmundston, NB Canada.  He came to Norwich to live with his sister when he was a young adult.  

Bert enjoyed joking around with his grandchildren and hearing their laughter.  He enjoyed their company and always looked forward to their visits.  When his grandchildren weren’t around, he enjoyed watching professional wrestling.  He played hockey in his younger years and enjoyed sharing stories about this with his grandchildren.  One of his many joys in life, besides family, was playing with his chihuahua, Luna.  She always brought a smile to his face.  Bert also enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. He made a lot of furniture and household items for his friends and loved ones.  

Bert is survived by his significant other, T. Dee Labonte, his sisters Rina St Onge and her husband Bob and Solange Jacqueline Querze.  He leaves behind his son Douglas Miclette and his wife Tia and daughter Norine Brown and her husband Josh along with 6 grandchildren:  Ariela, Dustin, Gustavo, Kaitlyn, Evan and Alex.  He also leaves behind an extended family of nieces and nephews.  

He is predeceased by his wife Darlene Douglas Nadeau and six of his siblings:  Lorraine Gendreau, Martin Nadeau, Robert Nadeau, Alda Ouellette, Claudette Duperre, and Ginette Nadeau.  

Special thanks to his nurses and caretakers at Apple Rehab in Colchester, where he resided for the past year and a half.  He was well taken care of!

A graveside burial will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Norwich for immediate family.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Connecticut Humane society, 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111 or to the Alzheimer's Association Connecticut Chapter 200 Executive Blvd S #4b, Southington, CT 06489.
