Barbara Jean Krystock, 71, of Middletown, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at Hartford Hospital. Born in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late John and Anne (Belovostic) Krystock.
Barbara had lived in Middletown since 1985, moving from Meriden. She was a member of Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church in Middletown and a former member of Saint Stanislaus Church in Meriden.
Barbara graduated from Maloney High School in Meriden and from Central Connecticut State University with an associate degree. She was an avid skier and tennis player and enjoyed playing cards and board games, especially Rage with Verna Elam and Sonja DeKorte. Barbara loved watching the game show network and sports on TV. She attended the US Open Tennis Tournament for many years. Barbara was a long-term, active member of Al-Anon.
Barbara is survived by the love of her life and best friend, Michael Broderick of Cromwell and her ex-mother-in-law, Joyce Fisher of Waterbury.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by two sisters Carol K. Draus and Joan K. Lucas; two brothers James J. Krystock and John J. Krystock; brothers-in-law Edward J. Lucas and Tom Draus and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Barbara was also predeceased by her beloved cats, Abby and Baby.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 19th at 10:00 am at Saint Mary of Czestochowa Church, 44 Hubbard Street, Middletown. A burial will follow in Saint Stanislaus Cemetery in Meriden. Family and friends may call on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown.
