Anna Marie "Nancy" (Carroll) Morrissey

Anna Marie “Nancy” (Carroll) Morrissey, 79, of Wethersfield, CT passed away Thursday June 7, 2018 at Autumn Lake Healthcare in Cromwell.  Born in 1938 to Thomas and Bridget (Kerwin) Carroll she grew up in West Hartford, CT.  Nancy was raised by her Father and her dear Aunt Margaret Kerwin, whom Nancy and her sister viewed as their Mother after Bridget tragically died in childbirth while Nancy was only two.  After graduating from Hall High School in West Hartford, she worked at Hartford Electric Light Company for many years before moving to Wethersfield, where she settled with her husband Jack and raised their family.  Nancy had the gift of the gab, and loved a good conversation.  She also enjoyed shopping, playing her piano, classical music, and travelling with her family.  Nancy is predeceased in death by her husband of 48 years John “Jack” Morrissey, she is survived by her daughter and son in law Margaret and James Stafstrom of Cromwell, her son and daughter in law Jeff and Linda Morrissey of Torrington, and her grandchildren, Brendan, Patrick, and Owen Stafstrom, Allie, Meghan, and Luke Morrissey.  She also leaves behind her cherished sister Margaret Hurney and brother in law Thomas of Reston, VA, as well as Jack’s extended family, and her many nieces, nephews and cousins on her side. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 11 from the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell at 10:30am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at Saint John Church, 5 Saint John Court, Cromwell.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
