Ann Althea Parmelee of Plainville, CT and Deerfield Beach, FL passed away on November 13, 2025, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Ann was born on January 8, 1954, in Middletown, to the late Richard and Althea (Mills) Parmelee of Durham.
Ann grew up on the family farm in Durham and graduated from Coginchaug High School in 1972. She attended Boston University and was then trained as a respiratory therapist. She practiced respiratory therapy at the Middlesex Memorial and St. Raphaels hospitals followed by many years at the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain. Ann provided caring service to all her patients and was known for her cheerfulness and generosity of time.
Ann was the beloved aunt of her many nieces and nephews whom she spoiled with love and adventures in their childhood. She traveled to visit those far away sharing many special occasions with each of them. She is remembered for many trips to the beaches on the Connecticut and Rhode Island shores as well as many special treats of ice cream or pizza. Ann loved the ocean and even developed a love of fishing with her partner Doug.
She is survived by her longtime partner, Douglas Wilson of Plainville and her brothers and sisters: Richard Parmelee, JR (Penny) of Durham; Thomas Parmelee (Lien) of Coconut Creek, FL; Joan Ruhl of Annapolis, MD; and Beth Groffman (Steven) of Deerfield Beach, FL
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 6th at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown.
