Andrew "Pete" Davis

Andrew “Pete” Davis was born in Lamar, South Carolina to the union of Thelma White Davis and Ernest Davis on September 3, 1934, and departed this life on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

Andrew, affectionately known as “Pete”, attended Portland, CT schools and lived most of his life in the Portland/Middletown area.

Pete was a great orator and entertainer.  He also was a fervent scholar of the Bible and could quote scripture, book – chapter – verse, without hesitation.  Pete attended services at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Middletown, CT.

He leaves to mourn two sisters, Arbedella “Lil” Davis Reese and Helen Davis Prater and a host of nieces and nephews, friends, and church members.

He was predeceased by five sisters and two brothers, Edith Myers, Lessie McRae, Cleondis “Kit” McArthur Jones, Hattie Smith, Ernestine Pryor Jackson, Reverend Willie Davis, and Reverend Joe Davis.

 A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church St., Middletown, CT at 11:00 a.m. which will be live streamed through Doolittle Funeral Home facebook page.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.  There will be no calling hours.    To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
