Alice Mae (Taylor) Talley, 96, of Middletown, wife of the late James Talley, passed away on November 30, 2024, at Waters Edge Center for Health & Rehabilitation. Born in Portland, she was the daughter of the late Major and Maybelle (Davidson) Taylor.
Alice grew up in Portland, graduating from Portland High School and was a member of True Vine Holiness Church in Portland. She moved to Middletown in 1975 and was employed at Wesleyan University for twenty years. Alice loved animals, especially dogs.
Alice is survived by two daughters Andrea Talley Cole and Valerie Ann Talley-Cheniti, both of Middletown; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband and parents, Alice was predeceased by four brothers, Edgar, Edward, Lionel, and Francis Taylor; three sisters Altermiese Mitchell, Doris Hunter and Margaret Taylor and a grandson Matthew Cole.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 10th at 11:00 am at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown. A burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery in Portland. Family and friends may call on Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice’s memory may be made to your favorite dog rescue.
