Alan Carl Sundell

Alan Carl Sundell, 69, of Cromwell, husband of Monita (Croteau) Sundell, passed away peacefully at home January 30, 2024, with family and friends by his side.  He was predeceased by his parents the late Edmund and Elsie (Soupel) Sundell of Wethersfield.

Alan was born in New Britain, lived in Wethersfield, then moved to Cromwell for the next 40 plus years. He worked at Travelers Insurance Company while he went to CCSU and earned a BS in Accounting. After nearly 20 years with Travelers, he went on to work for the State of CT in the Department of Insurance as a Financial Analyst. Alan retired in March.

Along with his wife, Alan leaves his daughter and son-in-law Misty (Kyle) Burgess and three grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law Barbara (Sundell) (Steven) Aronson; two nephews and a niece, their spouses and grand nieces and nephews as well as a multitude of friends.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 8th at 11:00 am at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell.  A burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown.  Family and friends may call on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan’s memory may be made to the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center, c/o Medical Oncology Dr. Kamradt/staff, 85 Retreat Ave., Hartford, CT 06106.
