Walter "Poz" Lamont Pope

Walter Lamont “Poz” Pope, son of the late Paula A. Pope and Walter M. Pope, entered this world on April 18, 1968 in New Haven, CT as a beautiful joy to his parents. On July 16, 2018 at 11:00 pm, he received a call from his mom and dad about a new opportunity above in which he welcomed with open arms. An opportunity that comes with a lifetime bonus that he just couldn’t pass up. This new opportunity reunites him with his parents; uncles Charles Proctor, Nathaniel Proctor, Wallace Gordon and Wilbur Pope; Aunt Linda Wright; grandparents Beatrice Garnet, Pauline and Nathaniel Proctor and Marjorie and Walter Bezel Pope; and many other loved ones that he hasn’t seen in a long time. Lamont is going to have an amazing time and is ready to start this new chapter. Lucky for him, he will still be able to maintain his private life, but know about everyone else’s. He’s such a lucky guy.
    

Lamont dedicated his time to his family, friends, and colleagues living life to the fullest. He worked for over 20 years in the manufacturing industry at Acme Monaco Corporation and advanced to the position of Quality Control Leader.  He filled the moments of his life on the go visiting with family and friends, fishing, enjoying sports and sharing his love for the Yankees and the Steelers, and cherishing his nephew Jordan.  As all that met him would say....Walter was an amazing guy with a smile that lit up any room.
  

His amazing life will be forever cherished in the lives of his sister, Adrienne Pope (Charlene Brockenberry) and his adoring nephew and best little man, Jordan Fine.  Walter was blessed to have an abundance of loving family members and friends, many of which held a special place in his heart. Best friend and lifetime brother Troy Adams and special cousins Danielle Proctor, Daphne Gordon, Wallace Gordon, David Weston and Jason Pope. Along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 23 at 11:00 am at Cross Street AME Zion Church, 440 West Street, Middletown.
