Thomas Gagliardi, Jr., 70, of Avon, Massachusetts, passed away on September 20, 2019 at his home. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Thomas and Grace (Arcata) Gagliardi, Sr.
Tom lived most of his adult life in Massachusetts. He was an amazing athlete excelling in both baseball and football. Tom was a Vietnam veteran serving in the United States Navy for two tours. He worked at Brigham & Women’s Hospital for over thirty years.
Tom enjoyed model trains, metal detecting, and most of all cooking for family and friends. He was loved by all who knew him and made people feel special. Family was most important to Tom.
Tom is survived by a son, Thomas M. Gagliardi and his wife Guenevere of Bolton, MA; a daughter, Grace Clark and her husband Jim of Peterborough, NH; two brothers, Leo Gagliardi of Broad Brook and Carmelo Gagliardi of Windsor; three sisters, Rosie Collins of Hartford, Mary Beaulieu of South Windsor and Linda Salentnik of Hebron; six grandchildren; a great grandchild and longtime companion, Lillian Figueroa and her family.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 26 at 12:00 pm at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown. Burial will follow in State Veterans’ Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded.
