Thelma June (Jansky) Spencer

Thelma (Jansky) Spencer, 53, of Higganum, beloved wife of Jesse Spencer, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2018.  Born in Middletown, she was the daughter of Jean (Korb) Jansky of Higganum and the late Charles G. Jansky.

Thelma lived in Higganum all of her life and worked as a cashier at the Country Market in Higganum for several years.  Thelma enjoyed making Christmas wreaths for many years and loved vacationing at their camp in Milo, Maine.

Along with her husband and mother, Thelma is survived by two stepdaughters, Shannon Burkle and Melissa Spencer, both of Middletown; a brother, James D. Jansky of East Haddam; three sisters, Jean L. Nolet, Kathy A. Jansky and Holly L. Jansky, all of Higganum and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5 at 10:00 am at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown.  Burial will follow in Higganum Burr Cemetery.
