Ruth graduated from Greenwich High School and spent most of her life growing up in Greenwich Connecticut, where she lived for 62 years before retiring with her husband Michael to Columbus, NC in 1986.

They lived life to the fullest together during their time in Columbus, NC enjoying the beauty in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. After Michael’s passing, she stayed in Columbus for almost 25 more years and was very active in the community. During this time, she loved volunteering at St. Luke’s Hospital and the local hospice in Columbus, and was a parishioner at Grace Lutheran Church in Hendersonville.

She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing in the church choir and play the piano. Early in her career, Ruth worked in the Greenwich school system and prior to that she was the secretary to Clare Booth Luce, US State Representative.
