Roy Andrew Neumann

Roy Andrew Neumann, 57, of Rockfall Connecticut, passed away on September 22, and is in the perfect care of our Father in Heaven, and we are confident that we will be together with him again.

Roy was born on January 4, 1961 in Middletown, grew up in Middlefield, and attended Coginchaug High School in Durham. Roy loved nature and found much peace and rest outdoors. Watching the sun rise and set always brought him a sense of awe. Roy had a uniquely loving, kind and gentle spirit that could and will not ever be forgotten. He would truly do anything for those he loved. His sense of humor would always leave you smiling, and would brighten even the darkest day. Roy was an extremely talented and gifted man, a self taught, accomplished musician and artist. Anyone who has ever played guitar with him or heard him play will remember his licks forever. His art work was so detailed and accurate that it would boggle the mind and you will always find something new in his work every time you admire it. Roy was an avid chess player, and taught Chess with Roy at Levi E. Coe Library in Middlefield. His talents greatly extended into his employment work as well, a true jack of all trades, and could put his mind to anything. He was especially proud of his roofing and plumbing work. Roy was a loving son, who always honored his parents well and he brought them great joy. 

Roy is survived by his parents Roy Eugene Neumann, and Judith Ann (Whittaker) Neumann, of Rockfall, his son Steven Binnington, and wife Kaitlin (McKernan) Binnington of Haddam, Steven’s mother Jennifer Binnington, who continued to be a lifelong close friend of Roy. Roy’s fiancée Erica Meyers of Middlefield, his sister Shelley Morariu, sister Jennifer Fusaro, son Roy Neumann, Jr. and wife of Collinsville, daughters Manda and Melodee. Also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close extended family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday September 27th from 11:00 -1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm at Doolittle Funeral home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown.  Burial will be private.
