Roberta (Allan) Stech

Roberta (Allan) Stech, 92, of Middletown, wife of the late F. Gene Stech, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Apple Rehab, Middletown. Born in McCook, NE, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Gollehon) Allan.

Roberta taught school but eventually her greatest pride was being a stay at home Mom.  She also lived in St. Albans, WV, Stamford and Danbury, CT; and Albuquerque, New Mexico before moving to Middletown where she lived for twenty years.  She was a member of South Congregational Church.  She was a master gardener and an avid reader.  Roberta touched hearts and enriched lives of those she met throughout her life.  In Roberta’s words, “I’ve been fortunate to have had a very good life. I had a wonderful husband who was a very good provider, six wonderful daughters, all who have made me proud.”

Roberta is survived by five daughters, Margaret Bufford of Oroville, CA, Katherine Berry of Eugene, OR. Martha Leslie of Moodus, CT, Elizabeth Mooney of Lubec, ME, and Sharon Wright of Boise ID; nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and husband, Roberta was predeceased by her daughter, Carol Ann Stech and two brothers, Thomas and William Allan.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Roberta’s memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association Connecticut Chapter, 200 Executive Boulevard, Southington, CT 06489-1058.
