Phillip Henry Pope

Phillip Henry Pope, 74, of Middletown, husband of Susan (Galata) Pope of 48 years, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Walter and Marjorie (Weston) Pope.

Phillip lived in Middletown all of his life.  He was a veteran serving in the United States Air Force and retired from Aetna.  Phillip loved to fish, ride his bike everyday and spend time with his grandchildren.  Phillip was a very honest man of high integrity and was always giving of his time.

Along with his wife, Phillip is survived by two sons, Jason Phillip Pope and Aaron Paul Pope, both of Middletown; two sisters, Barbara Pope and Madeline Pope, both of Middletown and four grandchildren, Nathan Pope, Camryn Pope, Renee Meyer-Pope and Naava Skye Pope.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 9 at 11:00 am at Cross Street A.M.E. Zion Church, 440 West Street, Middletown.  Burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded. 

Family and friends may call on Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the church.
