Paul Lewis Pelka

Paul Lewis Pelka, 62, of Torrington, passed away Saturday June 2, 2018 at his home. Born in Lodz, Poland, he was the son of John Pelka and Christina (Wawrowska) Pelka. Paul was a distinguished veteran of the United States Air Force serving in Operation Enduring Freedom. He received distinguished marks in all of his military technical training, and was a graduate of University of Connecticut. He enjoyed flying and working on airplanes, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his family.

Paul is survived by his daughter, Victoria Elizabeth Pelka, of Hartford, his brother, Andrew Nardi, sister-in-law Toni Nardi, and their three children of Bristol.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018 at 10:00 am in the State Veterans’ Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane, Middletown where full military honors will be accorded. Those wishing to process will gather at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown at 9:00 am to process to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s memory may be made to Mental Health Connecticut, 61 South Main Street, West Hartford, CT 06107.
