Mark "Sam" Anderson

Mark “Sam” Anderson, 64, of Rocky Hill, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2018.  Born in Bristol, he was the son of David Anderson of Cromwell and the late Mary (Guidetta) Anderson.

Sam grew up in Newington and graduated Newington High School, Class of 1972.  For the past ten years, he resided at the Rocky Hill Veterans Home.  He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.  Sam was an avid sports fan especially the Boston Red Sox and the New York Jets.

Along with his father, Sam is survived by two brothers, John Anderson of New Britain and David and Deidre Anderson of East Hampton; two sisters, Carol and John Salerno of East Berlin and Susan and Angelo Morello of Cromwell; a special niece, Mary Anderson and several additional nieces and nephews.

Besides his mother, Sam was predeceased by his grandmother, Mary Danks.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12 at 11:00 am at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell where military honors will be accorded.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
