Lorene (Wilkerson) Mifflin

Lorene (Wilkerson) Mifflin, 71, of Portland, wife of the late Charles Lee Mifflin, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Middlesex Hospital.  Born in Harriman, TN, she was the daughter of the late Wayne Johnson and Mary (Gallaher) Wilkerson.

Lorene lived in Portland since 1966 and was employed at Stannard Knapp, W. A. Parsons and Lee Manufacturing.  She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping.  Most of all, Lorene loved spending time with her family.

Lorene is survived by her son, Charles L. Mifflin, Jr. of Portland; her daughter Anquinette Hoggard and her husband, Nicholas of Middletown; a brother, Charles E. Wilkerson of TN, William and his wife, Jackie Johnson of TN, Vincent, Albert and Arvin Johnson all of TN; two sisters, Debra and her husband, Larry Wells of TN, Millas Witt of TN; one sister-in-law, Teresa Wilkerson of TN; four grandchildren, Elijah Williams, Shameca Williams, Sean Mifflin and his wife, Rebecca and Leah Mifflin; four great grandchildren, Isabella Mifflin, Ronin Hamblin, Thomas Rivera, Jr. and Alyssa Rivera and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her stepfather, J.B. Wilkerson; her stepmother, Carrie K. Johnson; and three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 6 at 12:00 pm at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown with the Rev. Yvonne Gallaher officiating.  Burial will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery.
