Judith Celia (Hample) Russo

Judith Celia Hample Russo (Judy) of Middletown, CT, Elmira, NY, & Keuka Lake, NY, died peacefully in her sleep on July 13, 2018 with her beloved husband by her side. Judy was the cherished wife of Daniel Paul Russo; thoughtful big sister of Marc (Marilyn Damiano) and Heidi Hample (a.k.a. Debbie); sister-in-law, Susan Russo; loving aunt of Neelama Eyres, Michael Schiesser and Langdon (Katherine) Hample, Joseph (Elise) Russo and Charles (Lauren) Russo, devoted great aunt of Kai Schiesser and Grace and Lowell Hample. Also survived by her uncle, Sheldon (Carol) Reingold. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert W. and Ruth (Reingold) Hample and brother-in-law, Joseph N. Russo.

Judy graduated in 1970 with a BA degree in sociology from Case Western Reserve University. She continued her education at Lesley College, Boston and graduated with a Master’s degree in early childhood education.

She worked in the insurance industry with careers at Liberty Mutual, ARC/AMS and Aetna. Her delight was her work with 1-4 year old children at Calasanctius pre-school, Buffalo, NY and the Even Start Program in Middletown.

Judy was an active Democratic woman serving on the CT State Central Committee for 12 years, Middletown Democratic Town Committee and as a member of Middletown Board of Education.

Judy and her husband Dan were devoted to each other for 30 years. Her memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, July 17 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown, CT with a remembrance service at 6:30pm.
