Harold “Duke” Leitzes, 82, of Palmetto, Florida passed away on March 15, 2018 at Manatee Memorial Hospital. Originally, from Middletown, CT, he was born on June 1, 1935 to Maurice and Arlene (Wall) Leitzes. He had a long career as a sales representative at Hartford Distributors, Inc. He retired at the age of 50 to fulfill his lifelong goal of being able to golf year round. He moved to Florida with the love of his life, Faith Hall. Duke enjoyed good food, good friends, many rounds of golf, and watching the Yankees and Connecticut Women’s Basketball with his dog Noah. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Greenberg, brother Merrill Leitzes, and his life partner, Faith Hall. A special thank you goes out to the Imperial Lakes Community, Westminster Towers, and the Manatee Memorial Hospital staff for their care and compassion during this time. A graveside service will be held at Adath Israel Cemetery, 714 Pine Street, Middletown, CT on Sunday March 18th at 1:00 pm. Please omit flowers.
