Diane Cora (Fiorillo) Blancato

Diane Cora (Fiorillo) Blancato, 80, of Moodus, formerly of Middletown, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2018.  Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Umbert “Jack” Fiorillo and Sadie (Gostin) Fiorillo.

Diane graduated New Britain High School and attended Central CT State University.  She worked at Wilcox Crittenden and Horton Brass.  She was a member and very active in the Junior Women’s Club and thoroughly enjoyed her volunteer work at Russell Library.  She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and board games.  Above all, Diane loved spending time with her family and especially the holidays together.

Diane is survived by a son, James Blancato; two daughters, Cora Blancato and Michele LaPila and her husband, Michael, all of Moodus; four grandchildren, Michael, Justin, Louie and Anthony; and three great grandchildren, Caprice, Antonio and Charlie.  She is also survived by a sister, Jacqueline Opeka of Niantic.
