Clarice (Watford) Cofield

Clarice (Watford) Cofield, 76, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at her home.  Born in Bertie, NC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Garnett (Wiggins) Watford.

Clarice lived in Middletown since 1973 and was a member of The Open Door Missionary Baptist Church, a church she truly loved.  She worked for the Monsanto Company in Deep River and enjoyed playing Bingo.  Clarice loved her family and friends very much.

Clarice is survived by three sons, Rudy Lee Cofield of NC, Tony W. Cofield and Ricky F. Cofield, both of CA; three daughters, Darlene Cofield and Charlene Cofield, both of New Britain and Sheron Y. Olden of West Haven; a brother, Earl Watford of FL; four sisters, Garnell Mitchell, Rose (Watford) Turner, both of Meriden, Shelbia Leary of Middletown and Lisa Bass of Middletown; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Clarice was predeceased by three brothers, Willie, Charlie and Dennis Watford and sister, Lilly Wiggins.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 13 at 11:00 am at The Open Door Missionary Baptist Church, 76 High Street, Middletown.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.  Family and friends may call Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the church.  To share memories or send condolences to the family, please visit www.doolittlefuneralservice.com.
