Cindy Marie (LaPlante) Hastings

Cindy Marie (LaPlante) Hastings, 58, of Cromwell, beloved wife of Michael J. Hastings for twenty-seven years, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home, on Wednesday, October 10, 2018.  Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of Phyllis (Leavitt) LaPlante of Wilbraham, MA and the late Richard LaPlante.

Cindy lived in Cromwell for the past sixteen years where she worked as a dedicated operations manager in real estate. She was happiest in the kitchen cooking for her family whom she adored. She was the baker/owner of a popular family restaurant in Colorado for many years prior to moving back to Connecticut. Cindy always loved the holidays and was known for the volumes of award winning apple pies she baked for her family and friends every year. 

Along with her husband and mother, Cindy is survived by her four children, Erica Porteus of Cromwell, Melissa Maciejewski of Durham, Patrick Hastings of Middletown, Michael Hastings, Jr. of Wallingford; two sisters, Lori Ciak of Middletown, Tani LaPlante of Tolland and four grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 16 at 10:00 am at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell.  Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in East Granby.
