Carol Anne (Schrader) Neal

Carol Anne (Schrader) Neal, 75, of Middlefield, beloved wife of Ronald L. Neal, passed away on Friday, March 30, 2018 at Hartford Hospital.  Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Baldwin) Schrader.

Having grown up in South Philadelphia Carol knew to dress impeccably with a switchblade as an accessory.  She danced on American Bandstand and modeled for a French designer.  Carol wanted to travel and learn what she could about the world’s history, its traditions, and its people.  She had a desire to be an archeologist, which she accomplished by digging into your heart and soul. She was very involved with and loved the Mid-Lea Garden Club in Middlefield.  Carol worked at Pratt & Whitney in Middletown for thirty-two years.

Carol did not see people for what they looked like on the outside, she learned who you were.  She embraced people and shared her strength, humor, generosity, and acceptance with all.   Carol will be remembered and her spirit will move on through those lives that she touched but those she met and touched.   

Along with her loving spouse Ron, Carol is survived by her five children, Darla Morello and her husband, Robert, Ron Neal and his wife, Lisa, Daman Neal, Rhonda Saleski and her husband, Frank and Brandon Neal and his wife, Heather, her eleven adored grandchildren Alexander, Mason, Tyler, Logan, Greyson, Elliot, Cash, Natalie, Greta, Margo and Mia, her own siblings Norma Gigliotti, Henry Schrader and Lizanne Maestas and extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 7 at 10:00 am at Middlefield Federated Church, 402 Main Street, Middlefield.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Family and friends may call on Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown.
