Anthony Moore, Sr.

Anthony Moore, Sr., 82, of Middletown, husband of the late Joyce White Perry Moore, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Middlesex Health Care Center.  Born in Colerain, NC, he was the son of the late Nelson and Gladys (Overton) Moore.

Anthony had lived in Middletown since 1962 and was a member of Zion First Baptist Church, a church he truly loved.  He worked for Carabetta Enterprises retiring after more than twenty years.  Anthony loved gardening, fishing, music and being with people as Anthony was a people person.

Anthony is survived by two sons, Carl Moore, Sr. (Robin) of Bridgeport and Keith Moore of Middletown; a daughter, Gloria Watson (McCoy) of Rocky Hill; two brothers, Sidney Moore of Fayetteville, NC and Robert Moore of Portsmouth, VA; five grandchildren and a host of nieces including Rev. Dr. Jacqueline Watford Foster of Cromwell, many nephews and a close family friend, Rita Pulliam of Willimantic.

Along with his parents and wife, Anthony was predeceased by two sons, Anthony Moore, Jr. and Alvin Moore; a daughter, Shirley Moore; a sister, Gladys Fluker and three brothers, Allen, Eugene and Aaron Moore.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion First Baptist Church, 16 James A. Moses Avenue, Middletown.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
