Obituary for Walter "Bud" Arnold Seagrave, Jr.

Walter “Bud” Arnold Seagrave, Jr., 90, of Cromwell, husband of Nancy (Loveland) Seagrave, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Pilgrim Manor. Born in Middletown, he was the son of the late Walter and Ruth (Champion) Seagrave, Sr.

Bud served in the United States Army during WWII in Japan during the Occupation. He was employed at the family business, Seagrave’s Filling Station in Middletown and was a member of the American Legion Post #105 in Cromwell, the Disabled Veterans’ Association and the Cromwell Historical Society. Bud enjoyed going to tag sales and second hand shops.

Along with his wife, Bud is survived by two sons, James E. Seagrave of Meriden and Gerald A. Seagrave of Middletown; two brothers, John C. Seagrave of Middletown and Robert Seagrave and his wife, Barbara of Higganum; a sister, Lillian Czapla of Wethersfield and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Cecil Ashworth and his sister, Ruth Seagrave.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 29 at 3:30 pm at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
