Obituary for Sandra Jean Staples Nowlin

Sandra J. (Staples) Nowlin, 72, of Cromwell, wife of the late Richard K. Nowlin, died, September 21, 2017. Born in Salinas, CA, she was the only child of Edna Elise Furer Staples and Harry Hill Staples. Sandy lived in California and Texas, moving to Connecticut 15 years ago. Prior to retirement, she worked as a highly skilled nurse for 30 years. Her life's passion was her family and serving in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she was a volunteer in the Boston and Hartford Temples. She was an avid genealogist, loved reading, nature and spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Sandy is survived by one son, Richard K. Nowlin of Leander, TX and his wife Tina; two daughters, Leslie Mahler of Berlin, CT and Lisette Trueman of Charlton, MA and her husband Paul; and seven grandchildren, Sean Nowlin, Melanie Klepfer, Samantha Nowlin, Alyssa Trueman, Alexander Trueman, Noah Mahler, Elijah Mahler and great granddaughter, Alexis Klepfer.

Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 130 South St., Cromwell, Tuesday September 26th at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Middlefield Cemetery, Middlefield, CT.

Friends may call at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main St., Cromwell, Monday, September 25th from 5:00 -7:00 pm. Those who prefer may make contributions in lieu of flowers to the Temple Patron Assistance Fund
