Obituary for Archie Everett, Jr.

Archie Everett, Jr., 76, of Middletown, CT, husband of Maureen (Fitzgerald) Everett for 17 ½ years, passed away on January 1, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. Born in El Reno, OK, he was the son of the late Archie C. and Grace (Bruce) Everett.

Archie had an esteemed career in the military for 31 years from which he retired in 1989 as a Master Sergeant. He served two tours in Vietnam and later was positioned as a Recruiter and Re-enlistment Counselor.

Once retired from the United States Army, Archie had a long career as a Safety Manager with Simpson Strong-Tie, Varian Associates, Transgenomic, and West Valley Construction.

Archie loved to travel and was an avid reader. He and Maureen loved to travel across the states by RV stopping at all of the local Cracker Barrels. Archie embraced his long-term friendships. He especially treasured the Seahorses’ whom he had known for more than sixty years. They often enjoyed political banter.

Archie was fun loving, quick witted, and had a thirst for life! He will be missed by all.

Along with his wife, Maureen, Archie is survived by his son, Keith Everett of Madison, MS; two daughters, LeeAnna DiGiacomo of Aztec, NM and Andrea Brungardt of El Reno, OK; two stepdaughters, Wendi Pearce and Jill Kent, both of Middletown, CT; a brother, Wilbur “Dale” Everett of Ashburn, VA; a sister, Florence Marks of Charleston, SC; twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Besides his parents, Archie was predeceased by two brothers, George and Fred Everett.
